Our Kindergarten and Grade 1 students had a blast last Friday during the first week of the winter portion of their outdoor education, learning to ice skate at Idaho Ice World. Though technically not outdoors, it’s chilly in the rink and students have to dress warmly, including gloves, hats, helmets, and warm jackets. In addition to having time with instructors, students also have time for “free skate.” The balance that students develop on the ice prepares them well for the Nordic skiing experiences that they will encounter in Grades 2 and 3. The students will head up to Ice World three more times this winter.
