When to Apply

Our applications are accepted year-round, though applying between November and March gives you the best chance of securing a spot for the upcoming school year.

  • Parent statement
  • Two years of academic records, transcripts, and test scores
  • Recent student photo
  • Teacher recommendation (Preschool–Grade 5)

We’ll schedule a campus visit for your child. Preschool through kindergarten applicants will complete a readiness assessment.

Boarding Students (Grades 8–12)

Students who are entering grades 8–12 may apply for our boarding program.

The application process for boarding students includes the following:

  • Online application with a $75 non-refundable application fee
  • Student records from the past two years, including academic and behavioral records, transcripts, and standardized test scores
  • Recommendations from your student’s current Math and English teachers
  • Recent photo of student
  • Visit day scheduled by the Enrollment team. If a campus visit is not possible, we will coordinate a phone or web-based interview via video call.
  • Meet with High School Director (Either in person on visit day or via video call)

Additional requirements for international students:

  • English proficiency scores on at least one Internet-based test: TOEFL (TOEFL iBT), iTEP, IELTS, Pearson PTE, or Duolingo. We will consider scores from the PSAT, SAT, ACT or SSAT. Scores must be submitted to Riverstone International School, institution #5985. Please note that we do not accept TOEFL Jr scores for admissions into Grades 11–12.
  • Copy of a page in a passport that shows your student’s full name, photograph, and expiration date.

After the application process is complete, the Admissions Committee will review your student’s application at their next scheduled meeting. After this review, the enrollment team will notify parents of the admissions decision.

Completing the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme

Riverstone offers flexible pathways within the International Baccalaureate (IB) framework to meet every student’s goals. While completing the Full IB Diploma Programme, the world’s most recognized college preparatory curriculum, requires students to attend Riverstone for both grades 11 and 12, this is just one option. Our Standard Path allows students to earn high school course credit and sit for exams in select Standard Level (SL) and Higher Level (HL) courses. For students seeking the highest academic rigor, an Advanced Diploma Option adds a fourth HL course.
