Green Thumbs In Preschool

Last week, our Preschool class had an open house for parents in which they shared what they had learned in their last Unit of Inquiry of the school year: How the World Works. During this Unit of Inquiry, the students learned that people use gardens for many reasons. They started with the basics of what defines a garden, what purposes gardens can serve, and then learned about four types of gardens including flower, container, vegetable, and sculpture. Their favorite part, however, was when they got their hands dirty by planting marigolds and watching them grow. They each had a journal in which they could draw their plants and how it was changing it week. The students were incredibly proud to share their journals and all that they had learned during the unit!

Thanks to teachers Kathie Stilinovich and Jennie Moyett for guiding our youngest students this year and sharing pictures from their open house!
