The Sea Otter Classic is the largest bike festival in the country and has national level races across all categories and bike events. You can check out their web site here: http://www.seaotterclassic.com/ Every year the BYRDS takes down between 10 and 20 kids to compete and enjoy the festival. This year 4 Riverstone kids competed and did very well. Kristo won the 15-16 Junior Circuit Race which is an early indication that he is probably among the top 2 or 3 cyclists in the country at that age group. Grace Alexander took second in the Junior Road Race and will likely have a good chance of defending her national championship in that event. Matteo Jorgenson took second in the 10 and under mountain bike race which indicates he is likely among the best 2 or 3 kids in the nation. (10 and under kids do not race on the road). And finally Mikey Beck competed in the mountain bike Super D and at the age of 10 being one of the youngest riders, took 25th place. The BYRDS are very proud of these Riverstone kids who compete head to head with the best cyclists at their age in the country and do very well.
