Grade 2 returned from their three day Spring Trip to Hagerman full of stories, energy, and excitement. During their whirlwind tour of the area, they visited the Hagerman National Fish Hatchery, the Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument Museum, and Malad Gorge while camping two nights. They also visited the Herrett Center for Arts and Science on the campus of the College of Southern Idaho with an incredible planetarium show. Exploring the planetarium was a highlight! Hiking, swimming, and s’mores topped off an already action-packed three days.

For students, exploring the world around them and connecting what they experienced while on the trips back to the classroom curriculum is only part of the rationale for our outdoor education. Bonding with classmates, developing a greater sense of independence, and challenging oneself in new environments (and weather conditions!) are just a few of the reasons that our Outdoor Education program remains key to a Riverstone education.

Thanks to our teachers, Pete Burton and Trevor Lindsay, for guiding the students and chaperones through this adventure! Enjoy Trevor’s photos below and welcome home Grade 2!
