As many of you may already know, each year students from Riverstone International School’s Middle and Upper School compete in the annual National History Day competition. National History Day is an academic program that helps develop the students’ skills in research and reading, critical thinking, oral and written presentation, and organization. Students showcase their learning in a final report that may take the form of either a written paper, an historical exhibit, or a documentary. Their final products are then entered in local, state, and national level competitions where they are evaluated by professional historians, researchers, and educators.
On Friday, April 10, several Riverstone International School students competed in the annual Idaho History Day State Competition. First and second place winners of this academic competition were invited to compete at the national level in Washington D.C. at the University of Maryland at College Park in June. In addition to the invitations to the national competition, there were also several academic awards and honors given out at this year’s state level competition.
Riverstone International School is proud to announce that its students did very well in this year’s state level competition. While we are proud of all of our students who decided to join in this year’s National History Day competition, there are several student achievements we would like to recognize:

We would like to congratulate these students for their exceptional achievement at this year’s National History Day competition. We would also like to congratulate all of our students that competed in the both the regional and state level competitions this spring. Their hard work and commitment to learning is an inspiration to us all. Well done!
