Meet the Class of 2020!

As with their peers around the world, the Riverstone Class of 2020 faced the challenges of this year with resolution, kindness, ingenuity, and humor. They transitioned to a fully-online education, isolated themselves from friends, and had to forego traditional senior year celebrations. Yet, by working together, they completed the IB Diploma Programme requirements, set an example for younger students, and helped our school leadership develop thoughtful solutions to celebrating virtually with families and friends around the globe.

According to graduate Henry L. from Vietnam, “What is special about Riverstone is how much it feels so much more like a family than a school.” We couldn’t agree more, and just like proud parents, we are thrilled to be introducing you to the Class of 2020!

Our 23 graduates are mathematicians, musicians, scientists, artists, athletes, writers, world-travelers, Model U.N. delegates, and more. Our graduates joined Riverstone from 6 different countries: China, Indonesia, Jamaica, Syria, United States, and Vietnam. Five students attended Riverstone for 13 years, starting in Kindergarten.

They will be attending colleges and universities around the world, and received over $4.6M in merit scholarships. View their college admissions here.

They shared their art in their Virtual Senior Art Exhibition.

Our graduates recorded 60 second speeches for our virtual graduation ceremony. Although brief, their words demonstrate how our graduates felt known, loved, and encouraged by their teachers and classmates. Each student was also spoken about by a teacher who knew him or her well. And although we had to celebrate virtually, the spirit of gratitude that we hear during in-person Riverstone graduations still shines through in this year’s ceremony.

We wish the Class of 2020 all the best and know the friendships and foundation that they built at Riverstone have set them on a path towards great success. Congratulations, Otters!
