Water in the West: A Unique Summer Residential Program in Idaho

Using the theme, Water in the West, as a springboard, you will:

  • Improve your English language skills and work on Duolingo test preparation;
  • Learn how water plays a role in the West through tours, presentations, and field trips; speak with professionals about how water impacts recreation, agriculture, and energy in Idaho;
  • Learn and apply field and laboratory research techniques such as water quality/Ph testing, and create a comprehensive lab report from your research.

Additionally:

  • Explore Idaho's lakes, rivers, mountains, and natural beauty;
  • Raft, kayak, and camp with friends and instructors;
  • Learn to camp and backpack in Idaho’s Sawtooth Mountains;
  • Visit world-famous Sun Valley - home of the nation’s first ski resort and chair lift;
  • Attend a rodeo. Boots, hats, and western gear shopping will be part of the experience to get into the Wild West spirit!
