ManageBac & Technology


At Riverstone International School, we use ManageBac, an online tool specifically designed for planning, assessment, and reporting for International Baccalaureate programs.

In the High School, teachers use ManageBac for curriculum planning, communicating with students, evaluating student work, and producing semester report cards. After the school year starts, new parents receive an email invitation to create their own ManageBac login. We encourage parents to regularly view their student’s attendance, assignments, and assessments. At the end of each semester, parents are notified when report cards are posted for viewing.


High School students at Riverstone are communicating, researching, and submitting assignments electronically every day. In order for students to fully participate in classroom activities, we require students in grades 9 through 12 to bring a charged computer to school. Computers must be able to connect to the Internet, save files in PDF format, and upload files to ManageBac.

At the start of each school year, we establish ManageBac accounts for each student and ensure they understand how to use their personal accounts to review and submit assignments.

Due to the quickly changing nature of the Internet and social media, Riverstone’s technology usage policy is based on our Guiding Principles. Students are expected to act responsibly and respectfully at all times.

  • Teachers may allow students to utilize their computers/tablets for class work.
  • Students are expected to keep computers/tablets powered off when requested.
  • Students are prohibited from downloading inappropriate material or material that is in potential violation of the law.
  • The school is not responsible for students’ computers/tablets.
  • Neither the school nor its employees can be held responsible for monitoring all activity on social media. We are mandated to report inappropriate or concerning content.

By the time students have completed high school, they are experienced in using Google documents, making movies, composing music, creating blogs, and collaborating online. Students will also be well versed in word processing, spreadsheet, page layout, and presentation software applications. Additionally, we hold regular conversations about safe and appropriate use of technology.
