What time do High School students attend class?

High School students (grades 10-12) attend school Monday – Friday from 8:30 AM – 3:05 PM.

What grades are considered High School?

At Riverstone, students from grades 10-12 form our High School.

How many students attend High School at Riverstone?

Approximately 90 students attend Riverstone International School in grades 10-12, including local and international students. Approximately 15-20% of each high school grade are international students here either on a one year exchange or two years to complete the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.

How big are the classes?

One of the keys to having engaging academics and strong student-teacher relationships is the personal attention that only a small class with an outstanding teacher can provide. In the Middle and High School, our individual core class average is fewer than 20 students.

Core classes include the six subject groups.

When students enter the Diploma Programme, classes are even smaller as Riverstone offers more DP courses than any other school in the area.

Do you have social activities like dances for students?

Yes! We typically hold two dances per year, including our Prom in the spring. In addition to dances, we organize social events for students that help students form and strengthen friendships.

Do you have sports teams?

Yes, we have athletic teams in our High School for volleyball, basketball, soccer, and orienteering. If we do not have offer a sport at Riverstone, students may contact their local public school regarding joining or trying out for their teams. Read more about High School athletics here.

Do Riverstone students wear uniforms?

No, Riverstone students do not wear uniforms. However, as an International Baccalaureate World School, Riverstone places a high level of importance on international understanding and cultural sensitivity. Students and staff should dress in a respectful manner that would not be considered offensive to other members of the community.

Does Riverstone offer scholarships or tuition assistance to High School students?

Yes! We strive to make Riverstone as accessible to families as possible and currently, about 25% of our students receive tuition assistance. Most importantly, tuition assistance and scholarships do not need to be repaid.  Please read more about scholarships and tuition assistance.
