Learning a new language through fun activities is Riverstone’s specialty, and last week’s Spanish class taught by Señora Moyett was no exception. In addition to choosing 100 new words to learn over the week, the students played board games, as well as translated recipes in English to Spanish. They then put their translating skills to the test by following their recipes. Tasting the results was a given! Another fun activity was creating a collage with ideas for summer fun to share with their family after camp. The student not only had to write their ideas for a week of fun while creating interesting posters, but also presented their ideas and posters to classmates speaking only Spanish.
There are several other opportunities to learn and improve Spanish speaking skills throughout the summer. Small classes with lots of attention and fun are hallmarks of Riverstone summer camps. Check out the options on Riverstone’s website under the Summer Activities & Camps button.
