After 18 years of exemplary leadership and service, Bob Carignan has announced his decision to leave Riverstone International School at the end of the 2017-2018 school year.
To initiate the search for a successor, the Board of Trustees has assembled a dedicated search committee comprised of representatives from across the Riverstone community: parents, faculty, alumni and trustees alike — all focused on the common goal of seeking out the best possible leadership to guide and inspire Riverstone on its journey forward.

Update: December 19, 2017
To position Riverstone for the most competitive, successful hiring process possible, the head search committee has elected to appoint an external interim head for the 2018-2019 school year, while simultaneously seeking a permanent head for 2019-2020. This approach was chosen as a result of the necessary timing of Riverstone’s head of school search, and at the unanimous recommendation of numerous educational experts. Fortunately, it is one that comes with a precedent of success and model for best practices. Read more information here.
Update: December 7, 2017
After careful consideration and due diligence, the committee has engaged Coreen Hester and Roger Bass of the education recruitment firm Resource Group 175 to help guide us through a successful search. The committee chose RG175 based on its strong ties to the international community and deep presence in the western United States. Coreen and Roger—both past independent school heads in their own right as well as seasoned recruitment professionals—bring to our search over 60 years of collective experience in the education space. The RG175 team will visit Riverstone from Wednesday, January 10 through Friday, January 12 to meet with parents, staff, faculty, administrators, trustees and students to familiarize them with the search process and gather feedback. We encourage everyone to participate in this important exercise. Read more information here.
This page will be updated as the search unfolds.
